If you live with migraine headaches or there is someone in your life who battles them, you know migraine is an often debilitating disease that can have an overwhelming physical and emotional impact. Please consider sharing with others your thoughts and feelings about migraine through your words or art.

As a longtime editor, writer, and migraine survivor, I’m publishing a book of poetry, prose (essays), quotes, and artwork with migraine as the sole subject. I would be honored to receive and consider your Migraine Expressions for inclusion in the book, in whatever creative format you choose. Please see my painting (right) and this poem for examples of the type of works I am including.

Please consider submitting works that illustrate positive, uplifting, or even humorous moments and events in your life – what you do and accomplish without or in spite of your migraines.

For works chosen for publication, pay will range from $50 to $200 upon acceptance. You will retain ownership of your work and grant me the rights to publish them in the book and on a corresponding Web site.

Written materials and artwork in digital format (scanned or photographed drawings or paintings) may be submitted via e-mail, or artwork on disk can be mailed. Written expressions should not exceed 2,500 words. Digital images of art should be at least 300 dpi, 4 by 5 inches, and up to 8 by 10 inches. Extremely large files should be sent on disk.
